LG Optimus G: One of the Best Android's

LG Optimus G: One of the Best Android's

This is my first Article under the new High End, under $100 section.  So lets begin, this is a picture of the LG Optimus G, it is an Android phone that came out around four months ago.  It runs on Android 4.0 and it should get 4.1 within the next few month.  Before we get to what I think of it lets run through the specs, it runs on a quad core 1.5 ghz snapdragon s4 pro.  This is the same soc that the nexus 4 runs off of.  It is currently the fastest Android phone.  Once the HTC One or the Samsung Galaxy s4 comes out it will be beat, but for now it is the fastest. The HTC One will pack the same GPU because the GPU in this is amazing.  It has 2 GB  It has a 13 megapixel camera which is the same as the new s4, and three times more than the HTC One.  The screen is the same PPI near the same as the Iphone, but nearly an inch larger, with a 4.7 inch screen.  It is very vanilla Android nothing really special except for a copy cat version of the s3's "While you look at it the screen stays on feature"  It's in this but called wise screen.

Ok so here are my experiences with the phone,  it is great.  It is blazing fast, there is zero lag between homescreens.  I (sadly) have an Apple macbook 2.4 ghz dual core duo 2 and it loads pages only about 30% faster which is pretty amazing.  The screens colors are bright and brilliant, but not quite as good colors as the s4's Amoled screen. Even bright light you can see the screen with this, but it is much better with the s4.  All apps i've tried works very well on this.  I only have a few problems with this phone.  When playing as high end game like TDRK this heats up,  around to a 100 degree, this is expected however as with all s4 pro phone's.

The camera is amazing, the colors are rich,  HDR is quick,  and more feature than the s3.  You can in live video manipulate people, put a background to a video, its actually really good.  It does have a tendency to get smudges on it because it protrudes about a 1/16 of an inch, just wipe those off and you are good to go.  I highly recommend this phone and it is only $50.00 if you have a new line or $100 with a new contract, on Sprint.  There is the same model on other carriers with an 8 megapixel camera.

  1. The battery life varies greatly depending on what you do. VIdeo is about 7 hours, TDRK is just about 2.5 hours, and web is around 7 hours. Normal use should last you all day.
